FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
It’s a fair question especially if you’re generally healthy and used to seeing a physician once a year.
But meaningful, lasting health rarely comes from a rushed annual visit. It’s built through consistency, access, and an ongoing relationship with your physician. A Direct Primary Care membership makes that possible.
Think of your Skintima MD membership as an investment in your long-term health. You may use it often or only occasionally, but the access, continuity, and peace of mind are always there.
Membership offers an elevated primary care experience, direct access to your physician, thoughtful follow-up, and care that feels personal and informed. This is not a call center or an anonymous telehealth visit. It is your doctor, who knows you, available when you need guidance.
By intentionally limiting our patient panel, we are able to offer longer appointments, minimal wait times, same- or next-day availability, and seamless coordination of care. The result is primary care that feels attentive, unhurried, and designed around you.
-
Many members join when they are healthy and want to stay that way. Membership supports prevention, early detection, and personalized health planning often reducing the need for reactive, urgent, or fragmented care later. All the while having peace of mind that you have a doctor in your corner for sick visits, UTI’s, prescription management, wellness, family planning, etc.
-
Rising premiums and deductibles often mean paying thousands out of pocket before insurance meaningfully contributes. Membership replaces copays and surprise bills with clarity and continuity.
In traditional models, even a simple visit can result in multiple charges weeks later. Many women find that avoiding just one urgent care or emergency visit can offset an entire year of membership.
Some members pair Skintima MD with high-deductible insurance or health-sharing plans for unexpected events, while using membership for everyday care and prevention.
Skintima MD is designed for women who value time, access, and thoughtful, relationship-based care.
-
You are always welcome at Skintima MD. We care for women regardless of insurance status and can help coordinate transparent, discounted self-pay options for labs, imaging, and other services outside of primary care.
We do recommend having some form of catastrophic coverage for unexpected events, and we’re here to thoughtfully guide and coordinate your care-no matter your situation.
-
Your membership covers primary care services. Certain items such as specialized labs, imaging, or medications may have additional costs, but we work to secure transparent, often discounted cash pricing and guide you through every decision. Or, you may use your insurance for specialized labs, imaging, and medications.
Our goal is clarity, not surprises.
-
No, your Skintima MD membership is month to month.
You may cancel at any time with 30 days’ notice, allowing for a thoughtful and seamless transition of care. There are no cancellation fees.
Should you choose to return within 12 months, a $150 re-enrollment fee applies.
Our memberships are designed to feel flexible, supportive, and intentional, just like the care we provide.
-
We care for women across all stages of life and coverage types, and we believe every woman deserves thoughtful, relationship-based primary care.
Medicare:
Skintima MD has formally opted out of Medicare. This means we do not bill Medicare for our services, and Medicare will not reimburse for care provided through your Skintima MD membership. If you choose to join, you will sign a private contract agreeing to pay for membership out-of-pocket.You can continue to use your Medicare benefits for labs, imaging, medications, specialist visits, and hospital-based care.
Medicaid:
Skintima MD does not bill Medicaid for primary care services. Membership care is paid out-of-pocket and is not reimbursable by Medicaid. You may still use your Medicaid coverage for labs, imaging, medications, specialists, and hospital care outside of Skintima MD.
Many women choose to pair Medicare or Medicaid coverage with membership-based primary care because they value consistent access, longer visits, and a physician who truly knows them.
-
Absolutely. Many patients join Skintima MD solely for medical care.
Aesthetic services are always optional and billed separately from the monthly DPC membership. -
No. Aesthetic and cosmetic services are not included in the Direct Primary Care membership fee.
However, active DPC members receive an exclusive 15% savings on all aesthetic services as a membership benefit.
This ensures:
Clear separation between medical care and cosmetic treatments
Ethical, compliant medical practice
Freedom for patients to choose aesthetics à la carte
-
Direct Primary Care is designed to prioritize medical decision-making, preventive health, and longitudinal care without financial or procedural pressure.
By separating aesthetics from DPC:
Medical care remains clinically driven
Aesthetic treatments remain elective and customizable
Patients receive transparency and choice
This structure allows Skintima MD to deliver excellence in both realms—without compromise.
-
Yes. Many families choose Skintima MD to give their college-aged daughter consistent, physician-led care beyond campus health services.
Our Direct Primary Care model offers timely access, unrushed visits, and thoughtful follow-up, supporting everything from preventive care and women’s health to stress-related concerns and acute illness. When appropriate, we also coordinate care alongside student health services or specialists.
For parents, it’s peace of mind. For students, it’s care that fits real life-supportive, accessible, and designed to grow with them.
